Online Help - Conditions

You can set up your own Gameplan Conditions which allows you to be more "hands on" with your gameplan. The conditions allow you to specify :

  • Which quarters the condition applies to.
  • How much time is remaining in the quarter.
  • The score difference.
  • The priority of conditions over others.
  • Using these criteria you can set up your conditions and create specific gameplan changes, or depth chart changes based on them.

    Example

Your team mainly runs the ball, however you would like to install a 2 minute passing offense for the end of each half if you are loosing. Therefore you would set the following condition :

    NAME : 2 Minute Drill
    PRIORITY : 1
    QUARTERS : 2nd, 4th
    TIME LEFT : 2 minutes
    LOOSING : 1 - 60 points

After saving this condition it will be avalible for you to use when gameplanning and your depth chart. On the gameplan screen you can drop down the CONDITION field and select "2 Minute Drill". You can now enter a completly different gameplan for the two minute drill condition. You can also use this in the Depth Chart screen which allows you to bring on different personell for a give criteria.

** NOTE : Unlike the "Normal" condition which is mandatory, you do not have to fill in every single gameplan criteria or depth position for a condition you create yourself. **

    How It Works

    GAMEPLAN CONDITIONS

When a game is being played it searches for a play to call. It does this by checking the down and distance in relation to the field position (as shown on the grid). The program first checks through all the conditions in priority order to see if the current quarter, time and score difference match a condition. If it finds a match then a check is made to see if a play exists for that match. If one is not found then it continues checking all the conditions in priority order for a matching play. If no play is found in the conditions then the software reverts back to the "Normal" gameplan which is mandatory and therfore always filled.

    DEPTH CHART CONDITIONS

Like the gameplan, when a play is to be selected the software will go through the conditions in priority order. The software takes the first condition that is met and uses that for depth charts. If there is no additional depth information for the condition met then it will revert back to the Normal condition.

    Using Conditions

Under the "Normal" condition, there are a few built in criteria. This is to help people with a basic understanding of the game to allow them to not get too involved with conditions, yet still be able to compete with the more advanced gameplanners. Examples of these conditions include :

  • Attempting a field goal if in range at the end of a half or a game.
  • Throwing a hail mary at the end of a game if loosing by a touchdown but more than a field goal.
  • Bringing on your backup players in the 4th quarter if you have a comfortable lead.
  • When you set up a condition which runs to the end of a half you must take into account that if these conditions are met then the safegaurd plays as mentioned above will not come into effect. You will have to think smart and logically about situations like this. The way around this is to set up specific conditions for last second plays :

NAME : Last Second Field Goal
    PRIORITY : 1
    QUARTERS : 2nd, 4th, OT
    TIME LEFT : 15 seconds
    LOOSING : 0 - 3 points

    NAME : Last Second Touchdown
    PRIORITY : 2
    QUARTERS : 4th, OT
    TIME LEFT : 15 seconds
    LOOSING : 4 - 7 points

    NAME : Bring on backups
    PRIORITY : 3
    QUARTERS : 4th
    TIME LEFT : 15:00 seconds
    WINNING : 17 - 60 points

Then gamplan accordingly, putting KICK on each down where you are in field goal range for condition "Last Second Field Goal" and a big passing play in all downs for condtion "Last Second Touchdown".

"Bring on Backups" is a depth change, so under the condition in the depth chart screen enter the depth chart using backup players.

As the priorities are set up as 1,2 and 3 they will take preference over any other conditions you may set up.
